THE MILK BLOOD PROJECT · GOOD TO KNOW

Questions are
welcome here.

A few answers about the project, the show, and the kind of support we hope to make room for.

What is The Milk Blood Project?

A community project built around honest conversations about addiction, recovery, trauma, mental health, family, accountability, and second chances. The hope is to help people feel less alone and remind them their lives have value.

What do the name and logo mean?

Milk speaks to the care and nourishment we receive; blood speaks to the family ties we’re born into. Together, they hold the closeness, love, and pain that can live within a family. Addiction can affect everyone connected to the person struggling. The Milk Blood Project makes room for all of those stories—and for recovery, connection, and hope.

Who is it for?

People affected by addiction and recovery, including people who are struggling, people rebuilding their lives, and family members, friends, and loved ones.

What is the show?

The plan is a weekly video conversation with Joel and invited guests on camera. Callers will join by audio after screening. The production setup, schedule, and listening details are still being worked out.

How do I call in?

The call-in number has not been set up yet. Once the show line is ready, the number and instructions will be posted on the Call the Show page.

Can I remain anonymous on the show?

Callers join by audio and may use a first name or pseudonym, but a voice can still be recognizable, so anonymity cannot be guaranteed. Joel and invited guests appear on video and should expect to be identifiable. Recording, consent, and participation details will be explained before the show begins.

Is this professional treatment or counseling?

No. The Milk Blood Project offers peer support and honest conversation. It isn’t a replacement for professional addiction treatment, medical care, mental health services, or emergency help. Find support and resources.

Can family and friends take part?

Yes. Addiction affects families, friends, and loved ones, too, and their experiences matter here.

Will there be a community forum?

A forum is part of the plan. Its platform and opening details are still being worked out. You can read the forum plan.

Will I need an account for the forum?

That is the current plan: members will need an account to post, and may choose a display name that doesn’t identify them. The forum is not open yet, and its platform, privacy details, and account settings are still being worked out. A display name does not guarantee anonymity or confidentiality.
